Listing on the NYSE as a standalone company, The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC) had a critical need to have in place their Code and supporting Code Policies that truly reflected them as an organisation. TMICC were keen to demonstrate a strong commitment to ethics and compliance, and equally important was the need to ensure that the Code and Policies were readily accessible to all employees globally.
What did we find that was extraordinary? TMICC needed a Code that would feel fresh and in line with the new brand, whilst remaining evergreen and ensuring it was accessible and understood by all employees.
How we extracted the extraordinary
We were able to provide clear and consistent guidance throughout the development of their Code of Business Integrity Principles (COBIP) and associated Code Policies based on our in-depth experience of creating similar documents. We helped shape a structure based on behaviours we identified as outcomes from their standards. This enabled TMICC to embed a foundation of ethics and compliance principles at the earliest possible stage of its life as a standalone company.
With offices, factories and suppliers located globally, translating the COBIP into 15 different languages was required. This approach meant that as TMICC entered the public market, employees globally were equipped with relevant, practical guidance no matter their role at TMICC – allowing employees at all levels to best understand their responsibilities, the behaviours expected of them, and how these expectations align with TMICC’s core values.
